[7/22/2008]-What is making the headlines today, definitely would not have made the news a month ago. This is a clear attempt of the media to profit from Bale's new found A-celebrity status. What the majority of the reports fail to state clearly (only People pointed this out) is that it is British policy to arrest a person in connection with a crime BEFORE questioning them, and before a formal conviction. Almost all articles go on to say that Bale went...more

[7/21/2008]-Not a surprise the HP would construe such an article. It was clear all along that Maliki supports troop withdrawal, but they (HP) decided to spin this toward Obama. The surge is working, which paves a clear path for withdrawal.

As stated in the WSJ:

"Mr. Dabbagh said the government did not endorse a fixed date, but hoped American combat units could be out of Iraq sometime in 2010. That timeframe falls within the 16-month withdrawal plan...more

FOX News [SRC] [REF]

[7/2/2008]-I discovered this on the Huffington Post. The story claims that FOX news purposely altered the photos of two NYT reporters during a morning show. Will be interesting if indeed FOX doctored the photos or did Media Matters doctored the airing?

[7/2/2008]-In this widely disseminated AP article, the first paragraph resonates with the recent Gitmo woes:

"Videos showing Leon police practicing torture techniques on a fellow officer and dragging another through vomit at the instruction of a U.S. adviser created an uproar Tuesday in Mexico, which has struggled to eliminate torture in law enforcement."

One would interpret a United States adviser as being an official from the US hired to...more

[6/24/2008]-Before my morning cup of coffee I caught the following subtext below a psychiatrist on Fox News American Newsroom:

"Scientists: Oxycotin doesn't have any side effects

"Oxycotin spray was successful at Univ of New South Wales"

Oxycotin is a common misspelling for Oxycontin, a powerful narcotic with MANY side effects[REF1]. After a little searching I was able to find the video[SRC] and verify what I saw. The...more

[6/7/2008]-In this article, Fox News aggregates an article from the Times of London, but does so with an explicitly targeted title. The original title[REF1] reads, "Church attacks Labour for betraying Christians".

The main argument: "The report, commissioned for the Church of England and to be published on Monday, accuses the Government of discriminating against the Christian Churches in favour of other faiths, including Islam...The report...more

[6/3/2008]-Despite multiple statements in the past 24 hours from Clinton's campaign, the Associated Press took its speculation to the press and claims that Hillary Clinton is confirmed to be conceding the Democratic nomination tonight, in light that all state primaries will have been completed:

"Hillary Rodham Clinton will concede Tuesday night that Barack Obama has the delegates to secure the Democratic nomination, campaign officials said,...more

[6/2/2008]-The title of the article, "FEMA Boots Katrina Victims From Trailers", conjures up images of a mean-spirited FEMA sending armed troops to clean out the trailers in a Fallujah-style routing out. They go on to support this image:

"The Federal Emergency Management Agency notified all of them that their deadline to move out was today, not coincidentally the first day of the 2008 hurricane season."

Halfway down the page, now that...more

[5/22/2008]-A recent proposed global ban on cluster bombs has prompted a flurry of articles. Reuters reported on the effort, but overstated the failure rate of the cluster bombs, or their tendency to not explode, leaving deadly unexploded ordinance (UXO) on the ground as land mines:

"Cluster munitions open in mid-air and scatter as many as several hundred "bomblets" over wide areas. They often fail to explode, creating virtual mine fields that can...more

[5/2/2008]-For some reason, despite initially being called out, ABC decides to continue to feed bad information.

FixMedia reported in March(REF) on a widespread media trend of calling Stephanie Kuleba's breast surgery, which ultimately claimed her life, a breast augmentation. This was despite the fact that the surgery was indeed corrective surgery for a birth defect. It was shameful enough to defile this poor girl's, and her family's, name just in an...more
