[5/2/2008]-For some reason, despite initially being called out, ABC decides to continue to feed bad information.
FixMedia reported in March(REF) on a widespread media trend of calling Stephanie Kuleba's breast surgery, which ultimately claimed her life, a breast augmentation. This was despite the fact that the surgery was indeed corrective surgery for a birth defect. It was shameful enough to defile this poor girl's, and her family's, name just in an attempt to make a headline about a breast surgery epidemic.
Well they've done it again, this time the article is focused around this trend and shamelessly uses Stephanie's death to further attempt to make it's point: "The media has speculated for years that cosmetic surgery for teens is on the rise, but it was the March 2008 death of South Florida teen Stephanie Kuleba, 18, during breast augmentation surgery that refocused attention on what many industry insiders describe as a growing trend."
If you really want to fight the trend, do so tastefully and with facts, but not at the expense of an unfortunate tragedy that befell a young woman.

“It should be noted also that they conveniently left out the cause of death, which was a reaction to the anaesthesia due to a rare genetic disorder. Thus if she were getting a tumor removed, or fixing a birth defect on her leg for that matter, she very well could have suffered the same fate.”
